Even boats that use ice boxes aren't being net-zero if the ice was formed in an electric freezer ashore. They're just transferring the stored thermal cooling in block form. Not like in the old days when ice was mined from northern lakes and stored in insulated ice houses for distribution year-round.

The boats that come closest to net-zero are those with solar/wind generation sufficient to run the electric refrigeration.
