There are marinas that cater to live-aboards

Here in the NY area it's a tough life for live-aboards during the colder spells in winter, but people adapt. There are no pump-outs that come to the boat, and winterized boats are rarely moved, so that means trips to the marina bathroom at all hours and all weather (perhaps on an icy dock), or perhaps porta-potties that can easily be brought ashore for dumping. Boats are tough to heat, as most production boats aren't well insulated and condensation/mildew is a constant problem.
