Any of you ever moved a boat all the way up the west coast?
Haven't but...
East coast
East Coast Round Trips
I've only sailed the east and west coasts
AND, the general wind directions have, for the most part, an "offshore" direction.
Plus . . heading north you have the moving sidewalk . . .
Steve I trust you & Denny are OK after the car was totaled
We're OK, It's just a PITA. Yes, life
Steve - about the car thing..
That certainly an option. I did that once about
Maybe mix 'n match?
West Coast Passage
A LONG TIME ago .....
No, more of a no jobs down this way...
What does it cost to ship?
Only ONE thing to say......
"somehow I don't remember you as that old..."
GOOD PLAN!!!!!!!!!
Shame on you
(59 is a very capable age for a sailor!!!)
60 to 70 for me was an incredible change
Growing old sucks
Osteoperosis, very thin bones will stop sailing cold
High protein diet correlates
As with so many things "as you get older", it's always a tradeoff and for......
MGUS
A plant-based diet might be your cure?
Statistics like this give me heartburn . .
You hit on some of the issues with Wikapedia
There are some Osteoperoisis drugs that may mitigate, reduce, or reverse that, Dan.

A big price to pay.
Dan - I looked up MGUS
We stopped dairy a year ago
Went veggie myself some 7 years ago...
Ya know what? It ain't so for all of us and to suggest otherwise is thoughtless.
Age is a crap shoot but...
I'm 74 two weeks, and am extremely fortunate to still have my health
But of course, cranky is part of my nature these days.
Well, I do agree that we are all different (And that you are a bit cranky at 68
)
I think we earned the right to be cranky!
No west coast exp. but I once shipped my 28'er up the east coast.
A book
It's a slog
27 foot PSC Orion.
FWIW...
You could get creative and find other haulers for your boat, Gene.
Just got some estimates... LOL
You'll have to factor in the rest of the damage to the
Seems to me either shipping it or motoring it north...
I don't think so. Shipped, the boat ends up, wear and tear wise, as it leaves.
Ah ha... perhaps I didn't read Steve's response right...
Gene, I got cut short on my post by breakfast.
From what I've seen, it's no different
soem sail out acouple 100 miles and then tack back in up the coast
Or you short tack it at 35 and
Sailing?? VS slogging or motoring.
If you're motoring or motor/sailing it's
ship it
We've done it two ways
Thanks for the Dudley transport info... and yes PNW is quite beautiful...
Swimming
