New isn't the only way to go. We have a couple of local repair shops that also have some used vehicles for sale. These are late model autos that the shop has gone over. The shops have been around a while, have good reputations, and their used vehicles are in demand. If I needed a vehicle for longer than a rental, I'd buy one of their used ones then sell it back when I no longer needed it. Just a thought... Price of new vehicles is high and the initial depreciation takes your breath away. Wife's current ride is an 'off lease' from the dealer - looked like new when she bought it, but 3 yrs old.
