First time, we trucked our Valiant 32 north from San Diego to Seattle. Dudley Transport is great. We've used them several times.
Second time we did sail the boat to Hawaii and then to Bellingham. That was more fun!
The PNW is a beautiful, beautiful place to sail, so do figure out a way.
I'm pretty sure sailing up the coast would be my last option. Particularly on a not so fast boat. To much chance of getting whacked by bad weather, as if bashing into northerly isn't bad enough.
We did the Baja Bash on the Valiant. The winds were light, the seas small, and it was relatively warm and it was still hard.
