the anchorage in Sag Harbor

outside of the breakwater isn't that far away at all from the dinghy dock at the peir. I've rowed the distance many times back and forth.
But, you don't want to be there if the wind is blowin g stroingf out of the N or NE.

Back in the day when they allowed anchoring inside Nantucket, the anchorage was kinky (a 4-knot circular current at times) and
truly a LONG way from town. Still, I rowed the distance myself quite a few times. But, it WAS a real workout.

Coecles should be an easy place to anchor. Should be LOTS of room after Labor Day. But, yes, it is a way from ... anything.
