I was hoping to get up there around the same time, just couldn't manage it this time... sounds like you had a very nice cruise, I'll bet with all the boats pulled for Irene, you really had places to yourself... I experienced the same thing a few years ago when I was up there for the Newport show and a storm threatened, it was great with so many boats hauled early...
Did you happen to investigate the entrance to Cape Poge Bay, by any chance? Sounds like you were anchored in the vicinity...
