I only "clamber" coming down ...when I forget which side I put the ladder on. I can get up there by clambering up the front of the gooseneck and then onto the bow - I do that when going through Mexican customs, just to show the militarios that want to search the boat, that it ain't gonna be easy! When they see me scamper up there they are too embarrassed to go get a ladder - it's not easy if you don't do it every day - especially in combat boots and body armor - I've had a couple of them almost fall off. If I get lucky and get an old fat one he'll usually just wave me on.
