I have it on some websites for planning. It's very nice to overlay the chart data on a satellite image. It gives me more data for choosing anchorages, shore access, etc. I think there is accuracy to be added in satellite imagery as it's up to date.

Then this may allow a commercial layer that would open opportunities for businesses and services.

Layers are nice in that you can get rid of the non essential stuff for piloting, turn it on when you need it. I find Active Captain data very valuable right now but like to be able to customize the chart for different needs.

I know most or all of this stuff exists in parts, I'm thinking the products now in the pipeline, that we will soon have. And I want these available on cheap apps for tablet and phone use. I want a simple non integrated system. And the apps themselves need lots of work! I wouldn't trust one on a tablet for a sole means of navigation, but that may change soon.
