Lost a coupla folks in past years folks following roads that GPS reports but impassable in winter, for example. Yet....

...folks persevere up an impassable road deeper into the snow because "the GPS says it's my route."
I'm nervous as hell about this sort of thing since I've never owned nor used a chartplotter... In my little boat I'll just have to keep my eyes open. Of course, here in the PacNW we have deeper water, fewer obstacles until you get up into the many islands of the San Juans and Queen Charlottes. I reckon a chartbook/cruising guide is the way I'll have to go.

- Electronic navigation has surely drawn in more people who cannot be bothered with learning navigation though.

- I'll be looking for better integration of satelite image on chartware.
