I wouldn't believe it ever would have been plotted electronically 
So I guess I must believe they would have also done so on paper. It is difficult to tell in your picture, but it looks like they come very close to shore at one point and cross land at the point of the star. Given that they seem to just go in a straight line, I doubt they would have plotted it at all on paper charts.
