The electronics did not cause the accident

The poor judgement of the captain and/or crew caused the grounding and poor judgement is going to happen with or without electronics. I suppose it supports your argument but, IMO, the real problem is it just looks so easy to use a chart plotter and people assume they know how to use it. The majority of the time that works but when it doesn't work the results are disastrous. With a little training, and proper judgement, electronic navigation is much safer than paper charts. But I still use a mechanical compass!
