Sure. these stats were easy to find.

I never said electronic charts have caused a decline, I merely continue to challenge your charges that chartplotters are causing more accidents(groundings).

What is easy to find is the data the CG collects annually on boating accidents. There's about 70 pages on a pdf I found. Essentially, most accidents are caused by operator inattention and or inexperience. Those cover navigation, for me.

Here's one simple chart. These are all boats, mostly power(which is just as well, they're the "video captains" as well) but the CG nicely split up data;boat type, size, etc, etc.

You can see a high of 8k accidents in the late 90's dropping as we turned the century. It would irresponsible to say there's any connection to Chartplotters growth, but there is a compelling parallel there.
