I have enough trouble getting the stuff from one company talking to each other . Also I don't seem to value radar that much. Not sorry I have it, but its most important use to me is the overlay on the chart plotter, which confirms that the charting is accurate. I like two or three sourced of nav data in unfamiliar places. Saw this off a little in a couple places in Newfoundland, and was able to shift the datum. Maybe on a passage the comic book alarm would be useful, but we keep a 24 hour watch if there are two of us, and the radar is on standby most of that time (off during the day). AIS has really replaced a lot of stuff that radar might have been useful for, cheaper, more accurate, more reliable.
