Our IP is set up for dual anchors on the bowsprit. The bottom conditions are 99% sand or mud around here so our anchors of choice are a 16.5lb claw and a 11 lb. Danforth (not Danforth-like, a real one). I tried to find a good photo of the rig but of course can't, this is the best I could do. There is an actual bow roller and then what amounts to more of a rode roller attached to the side of bowsprit. I messed around trying to mount the Danforth on the bow roller and the Claw on the side roller but there just isn't enough clearance for the claw and it wangers the gel coat under the bowsprit. The rig ended up being the claw on the roller and the Danforth in the cockpit locker with the chain shackled to the side roller kind of ready to go. I decided that isn't a very good setup so I was thinking of keeping the claw on the bow roller and adding one of those rail mounts for the Danforth so it could live on the bow rail and be ready to go if needed. The thing is, I have never used one of those rail mounts before and don't know if it's a good option or not? The IP brochure shows the same setup but that doesn't mean it's a good set up..........opinions?
