The type of anchor one buys won't save one, but it can greatly improve the system. Let's try this point another way - the type of sailcloth and design won't make one a good sailor, but it can greatly improve performance. Enough so to be considered a technical leap.
I remember your amazement when going from your older type of sailcloth and sail design to a modern cloth and modern design (I think there was a whole thread on it, if not more - and a little bit of bragging about light air performance ). Why couldn't anchors be similar?
I wasn't "bragging" on our anchors, I was relating amazement upon experiencing the difference between our older designs and our new ones. It was an eye-opener to me similar to what you experienced going to a modern Dacron cloth, full battens and loose foot main. If one hasn't tried it, one doesn't know what is missing.
