I have a Danforth 35HT horizontally mounted on the bow pulpit. It is held in place by a standard anchor hanging bracket and a chain tensioner - it is also safety tied. Normal doctrine is to hang it vertically but I'm not normal . To hang it vertical it is too long to fit properly. It took a couple of simple custom brackets to adapt the standard vertical mount bracket and chain tensioner to work well horizontally.

I wanted it on the bow for fast deployment in an emergency. It is ready to go with chain and rode attached.
