Craig,
Is the 16# claw (is it a Bruce, Lewmar, CQR or?) providing adequate holding? Do you use some chain behind it?
If you have mud and relatively soft sand (not grass) then the Danforth is an efficient anchor. An 11# Danforth seems very undersized to me?
As Tom Young "opened", I'd tend NOT to have two anchors on outside up front as a coastal cruiser. I'd have the second anchor on a stern pulpit or handy in a cockpit locker with a rode attached (or ready to be quickly attached).
I would tend to have an anchor that you depended-on with adequate weight up front. For a variety of reason in addition to Tom's observations, I'd not load-up the front of the boat above the deck.
If you were a world cruiser or in locations where you routinely anchor with two anchors -- or you need two DIFFERENT anchors, then maybe.
I've started with a Pearson 35 with a 22# Danforth, 6' of chain in front of nylon rode on our first boat. Our second boat was a Sabre 42 with a 35# CQR and 50' of chain in front a nylon rode. Both worked well -- but in very soft mud, the CQR was sometime difficult to set. Our current J/160 has had a 65# CQR with 250' of chain in front of a little (seldom deployed) nylon rode. Again, except in very soft muck, the CQR has been great in pretty sporty winds. I've had secondary anchors which have never been used. My advice would be to use a heavier "claw" with at least 12' of chain if you don't want to simply use a somewhat bigger Danforth. I would suspect that the Danforth you have is really more of a "lunch hook" weight for my taste. I'd tend to say 22#s or more.
