I take it all in the dink.

Anchor, chain, nylon - just let it pay out over the back of the dink, usually using the engine. That way I'm towing nothing.
Well, there was one time in Fire Island inlet where I just walked it out - boat was in about 2' of water! But that's a story for another day - over a beer.
