Ther used to be too many packages around for charting on PC and MAC. This press release suggests that there may soon be too few

"Signet USA Inc. today announced it has concluded the purchase of the Nobeltec, a leading provider of marine navigation software, electronic charts, hardware and accessories, from Jeppesen Marine, Inc. Nobeltec is now part of Signet’s portfolio, of which Furuno Electric Company is a significant shareholder, that includes the ownership of MaxSea & MapMedia among other marine navigation companies."

We have been using Nobeltec for five years. Great charts in the US, Bermuda and Bahamas, but lousy in Cuba and with many weaknesses in Europe.
