I owned it 6 years and really in full time service it last 4 years. Didn't think that was a good enough return on the AGM. However, it was in the engine room and next to the engine. I'm surprised that you could run it flat and back up. Now I'm seeing that AGM's really, really don't like to be run flat. Ample Power (IMHO the Geeks of 12 volt systems) flat out states they don't recommend AGM's for deep cycle operations on boats ( http://www.amplepower.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=311&p=1360&hilit=recommend#p1360 ) .

That said I did put another Optima in for the starting battery. I do like the lotsa power in a small space. We'll see how long this one lasts. And .... they're expensive in Panama!
