But I didn't know that, thanks. I usually turn the windlass on which also powers my deck hose, to do the tedious part. Cleaning and stowing the nylon rode takes some time but not much windlass use(I like the peace...). Once I get to the chain, I start the engine and use the windlass for that 40'. My Ideal windlass gets very little use, I think it's about 30 years old now, or more.
I think I got my answer though Steve. The more expensive batteries deliver more storage longer and in my case, probably would be a wash in cost over the cheaper lead acid I use.
