My boat turns on a dime, but only with the centerboard down.

Any centerboard boat (that doesn't have at least a shallow fixed keel) needs to keep the CB down for slow speed meneuvering... Especially a lightweight one with high windage.

With CB down we can do a U-turn in a radius of about 2 boat lengths; with CB fully raised at least triple or quadruple that, and control can be a problem on a windy day. Using the prop-walk and bow thruster (with CB down) we can spin the boat in place, without moving it much.
