... but ask me a few more years down the road. The installation was relatively straight forward, I did everything myself, I'd say all said & done maybe 3 full days of install, you will wind up moving / rearranging plumbing, components & lines, with holes to patch, etc.. And working in small, confined, rarely visited spaces always gets interesting, as you know you wind up replacing a bunch of other stuff you had no idea needed attention. And figuring out where to install pumps, lines, wiring & fuse blocks is always confusing. For me, it wasn't plug and play. Wiring was simple, they have a nice little control box with easy connections. I went with the Mulltfunction Smart Flush Control, not the manual controls, which is very nice. So far, mine is not the Pressurize fresh water, rather the Sea Water model, however, I can upgrade to Fresh with the remote pump if & when I want, perhaps once I get a water-maker. Completely eliminating the rotten egg smell would be nice, in addition to not having corrosive salt water throughout the system. I did not have a stainer downstream of the thru hull intake on the my previous PHII (and without ever having any problems, but we do all our cruising in the Bahamas in crystal clear) and had no sulfur smell. But with the new Marine Elegance, I did install a stainer and found that to be a source of trapped bio-growth that does smell after some time and requires more maintenance.
The only problem I had during the install (which was my fault and site specific) was because of my configuration I had to install the 1.5" Sanitation Hose from the Head Discharge outlet and to the Y-valve before I put the toilet in place and feed that through a bulkhead, because I could not get to the back of the Head to install afterwards. When I did this, the U-shape outlet / hose on the toilet is very soft & flexible, while the 1.5" hose is stiff and rigid ... that twisted a bit, which kinked the toilet U-shape hose. That took me a bit of time to figure out, as at first the Head did not flush.
So far, the new Head is everything they said it would be, we love it. Works great, looks great. I did swap out the seat for a Kohler Quiet-Close seat, which is also nice ... with quick-release fittings, which makes for a easy take on & off for cleaning. That seemed like $35 well spent. I bought the Head from Defender who had the best price, I also went with Bone as opposed to White which most others have.
Still admiring your new Galley countertops and reno, looks great, looks like a kitchen from a Fine Homebuilding magazine !
Cheers, John
