Telll me about Pamlico sound and the Neuse River
Certainly North Carolina has more Hurricanes than So Cal.... but I just noticed the people density of the area and was quite surprised... the population doesn't seem that high, the housing costs seem very low, and the historic area of New Bern seems somewhat interesting..
Is this a place to consider for retirement? What are the pluses and minuses of coastal North Carolina? What's the weather like?

- Live in Oriental or nearby or? I looked at real estate in the area last evening for amusement.

- Not much. Lots seem really cheap, some waterfront available to build. Built waterfront not so cheap but.....
- There's no substitute for going there
- Or too hot and muggy...
- San Diego has a lot more going for it
- Indeed San Diego IS a wonderful area...

- Affordable, interesting, high quality of life, great weather, world class sailing ground, easy....
- And, take advantage of your high realestate value, rent your home.
- This has been a consideration for a long time...
