One of the highlights in Block is the morning pastry delivery. Aldo (or now his kin) has been doing it for almost 40 years (that I know of). Couple of guys in a skiff cruising the harbor in the early morning, waking one and all with their cry of "Andiamo, Andiamo". Flag them down and they deliver - for a fair price. I did finally look up what "Andiamo ' meant, and the closest I could get was 'before yesterday'. Maybe someone who's speaks Italian could help out here?? Anyway, they hit the spot. Now if I could only get them to bring the morning paper and take the trash...
