That was the decision I made in 2006

I loved my job but it was a whole lot more than 40 hours a week. My husband was retired and had been for 5 years. I was essentially working for the mortgage though it was almost paid off. After a lot of thought I finally decided that I wanted to see what I could do if my time was my own. We moved from the Philly 'burbs to a very rural area of MD's Eastern Shore. We'd kept our boat here for 5 years so we were familiar with the area. Cut our expenses by more than my salary. Haven't regretted it for a minute - yet. It's not for everyone. We're 12 miles from a traffic light, 40 minutes from a big-box store, 80 minutes from a mall and an hour from a good hospital though we do have emergency care nearer. The irony is we don't sail as much as we did when we were spending all our weekends on the bay.
