Thanks SG. Not this year.

The Chesapeake is on my list, but perhaps as a September vacation destination. We had a brutal heat/humidity wave in the 3rd week of July last year that had me wishing for air conditioning, and actually caused my dog to "shut down" and stop eating or drinking (the vet said she was getting a lot of calls about that).

As I wrote yesterday in reply to Jon, I think we'll head toward the Cape Ann peninsula this summer and see how it goes. We stopped in Boston a few years ago and took a downtown mooring from the Boston Sailing Club just off the Boston Aquarium, which put us in the heart of the action in walking distance of North End with it's great Italian restaurants. (BTW next time you go there, I recommend you try Mama Maria. I give it a 5-star rating in every respect -- http://www.mammamaria.com/ ). But we didn't explore the Boston harbor islands, and headed back home from there (south).

Weather and time permitting, next trip to the area I'd want to stop in Cohasset then skip Boston (it's a long way in to the west) and try the harbors north -- Salem up toward Cape Ann and around to the north of there. Don't know how far until we get there. Annisquam is on the list. Will see.
