A new mooring/tackle costs a significant amount of money, and you need to hire someone with a pickup truck with lifting gear, and a workboat crane to put it in.
The mooring shackle below failed due to corrosion. Look at the gap around the pin and the inconsistent diameter of the shackle. The boat on it incurred significant damage when it went aground.
A mooring should be pulled for inspection at least every other year, and tackle that shows any significant degradation replaced. (Some people say every third year, but it's better to be confident about what's down there.)
