Figure $8 to $10 a foot, for a year and you're looking at $4320 for a 36 foot boat in So Cal... just to tie up to a dock. Add insurance, cleaning, repair and maintenance, and you're looking at somewhere between $5000 and $6000 a year.

Yacht club slip fees can be quite a bit lower, but you then have the yacht club dues.

This is why I have been a member of a sailing club for 10 years. I'd easily "buy" any boat I could afford to purchase just in slip fees after 3-5 years.
