Actually I think even Falmouth started a waiting list on moorings this year. and what you did, paying to use a friend's mooring, would generally not be allowed in most places now. The waiting lists are so long that the harbormasters want to move them as best they can when the opportunity presents itself.

I think Rockland has available mooring space, and we have thought about getting a mooring up there to use for part of the year, like either side of our cruise. Each town has its own rules and regs about how much the owner needs to be there, whether it can be sublet out, maintenance, etc. etc.

BTW, Larry, ours have to be inspected every other year, but that doesn't necessarily require it to be pulled out -- ours gets dived on.
