It's a light boat

and has quite a bit of buoyancy. Not saying it can't be pooped, but in big waves it's very likely to ride over without shipping water.

I don't know if it's within the design parameters, but offshore in the North Atlantic in January is not within my own parameters. I've been caught in some pretty rough coastal weather (e.g. 35 knots steady, gusting above 55 in wind-against-current) and it's not fun. I avoid it, and if I can help it you won't find me out more than 3 days from a safe harbor and reliable forecast.

I'd like to say I'm strictly a fair weather sailor (but sometimes it doesn't work out that way). A fast, comfortable boat (preferably one that doesn't lean) is what I like.
