refreshing to have somebody reporting from the bilge when one of these boats is abandoned.

Stops the wild goose chase speculation that too often demonizes the people onboard. I don't see any people problems here.

The enemy looks like the rudders.

The internal frame let go of one, and the stock bent on the other. Does it matter how much force the wave subjected onto those rudder blades? Aren't those two weak links(frame-stock) easy enough to engineer for anything applied to the rudder? This is a new boat so time deterioration isn't an issue.

So weird that a set screw only held above, but that only proves(to me), the waves power was not catastrophically strong on the rudders, or set screws are stronger than they look?
