Link below. Wind speed was approximately 20-25 apparent, and the boat speed was about 8-10k sustained. The 4+ foot seas don't show up well because of the wide-angle lens. The wind was from the SW in Block Island Sound and we were about half way between Montauk and BI so it was a long fetch comparable to offshore conditions.
I'm quite sure a J120 would not have stayed with us. Maybe a J133 would with it's longer waterline? I don't know. We left a few monos on the aft horizon that day.
PS -- Please forgive the sin of the wrapped sheet which was caused by flogging while we reefed. I shook right out the next time we eased the sail.
