I expect either the builder will reach a confidential and private agreement with the owner and settle for an amount without admitting guilt for anything, or there will be a trial and the whole truth will come out. If the builder is smart he'll try for the former.

As for other boats on order, my guess is those people are already asking to see the new beefed-up rudder/steering design. Those conversations might be getting a bit contentious, among those people who've put their money down. You know they're not going to sell anymore of those boats without such a redesign.
