you don't need the starter. They could have removed the started from the running engine and placed onto service on the other. With both engines running they might have been able to save the boat. It might have been a loud job and a hot one to boot but with the engine in idol I see it being done with minimal danger. Thinking out of the box when everyone is tired is hard but a session with two or three other experienced sailors sitting around the solon brainstorming the situation has got me out of a few scrapes.
