The owner should receive full value insured. That's what it's for, mistakes in navigation, etc.

I would guess of those that navigate around this enormous well charted reef, a few are astonished that they ran into it.

Not me! It happens, always has and always will. I feel for these guys but if the hull was insured, at least, that will be recouped.
