The first scene in "All is Lost" was the most compelling part in the whole movie to me.

Broad day light, calm seas, the single hander wakes up in the veeberth to seawater gushing over his electronics at the nav station. I doubt the writers thought of the personal power of that moment on sailors-no lookout.

That was the end of the movie for me. He in effect was playing the sailors version of Russian Roulette(who hasn't?), and he lost.

....click...click...BOOM....the end.
