Do we know that they did not have a paper chart?

() If they did have a paper chart squirreled away someplace, do you think they would have randomly pulled it out at the right moment, slapped their heads and say "what a fool I almost was, thank god we have this paper chart on board"?
This wasn't about charts or charting systems. This was a big mistake that could have been prevented 6-ways to Sunday. A paper chart just happens to be some people's favorite way.

- I can see that happening. I had to zoom out to 90 NM for those islands to disappear on an ipad.
