That's so, at a glance, I can see the "big picture". I set up the course and way points and then zoom way in and "walk the course". I slowly check every mile of the entire trip and do it again if I make any change at all. This includes additional time for every point I'll be rounding and obstruction I encounter. It's pretty time consuming but you just have to do it. I agree, this was just bad navigation. For what ever reason, and I'm not bagging on the guy, for what ever reason this was just bad navigation. I've made some blunders from time to time and have always said that I would rather be lucky then good but how do you hit a reef that long?
