Thanks Tom and Jon.
Wind is still in 30s, seas are big, but both have moderated a bit from yesterday's conditions. The wind has veered a bit more east and the seas have spread out, making for a more comfortable ride. Their current position as of 1600 AST is about 32.3N 71.2W, they are making about 160-165 magnetic with the seas on the quarter and apparent wind just aft of the beam. All is well, he said there are two Outbound 46's WhyNot and Pratique about 50 mi behind them. He has run off to the SW and W a couple of times before big squalls where they saw winds in the low 50s.
He is going to continue at 160, that's about as high as they are comfortable going, he'll work up if conditions allow. Gribs show wind and seas moderating by Friday into Saturday, wind will be E at that time. Looks like there is a big H over Novia Scotia that is driving this wind, with a transition to the easterly trades at about 28N.
All is well aboard. There is a total of 4 persons onboard. I believe they are headed to Virgin Gorda, which is the destination of the Salty Dawg. I read yesterday on Facebook that most of the Dawgs were not leaving til Weds, but now apparently they set off today. Looks like E - NE winds the next couple of days, then SW.
