Also from the UK and in the Salty Dawg Rally. SERAFINA has been out for 6 years cruising around the Atlantic and Med. They had decided of late, they've had enough and are returning to the UK and will put their Najad 460 up for sale after another winter in the Caribbean.
Their latest blog post tells the story. My hat goes off to these husband wife boats, they can have a tough time in conditions like this. Here it is below,...
Horrid, horrid, horrid
35:09.72 72:08.84
Friday we think!
Spent 24 hours in God's own washing machine which is the Gulf Stream with 30
knots of wind against the strong current - all our worst nightmares!
Out of Stream at last this morning and now sailing south East and waiting to
get battered by a front due here tonight bringing 30 knots from the NW
gusting possibly to 50 knots. But it is at least going our way, so hopefully
a very fast sleigh ride.
Both suffered horrible seasickness but hove to this morning for a break and
a chance to recover.
But OK and Serafina is proving herself to be outstanding in these
conditions."
