I'm listening to yesterdays recorded boat check in. SERAFINA reports that RUFFIAN is having engine problems(wind has gone light and they are both running south ASAP away from approaching gales to the north). Quotes SERAFINA, "They're having problems with their raw water and coolant mixing, can only run an hour or so at a time,..."
Anyone with a Volvo, that would be stock in a Sadler 34'? I think I recall it was a 2003 model? Sounds like the exchanger has rotted out? Any ideas that might help?
Last night we had dinner with neighbors from the UK that are old friends of Fiona and Iains having done quite a bit of ocean racing together in the past. We raised a few glasses to the crew on Ruffian as they told some old racing stories, that can't be repeated here.
Fiona and Iain will do fine but the drama will continue now with this news from yesterday. I hope winds are in their favor now.
