I can't imagine how you would keep a large foredeck locker door watertight...

unless it was built from metal and looked like a work boat with a bunch of dogs. Even something like a Lewmar deck hatch isn't that watertight if you blast it with a hose. A fiberglass hatch hasn't got a chance. Better to drill a hole in the bottom and let the water out, that gets in.
